The new Ford F-250: Big-time capability in a pickup
The new Ford-250 Super Duty pickup takes the capabilities of the legendary Ford F-150 and dials things up a few notches. What's new for 2023?
For the latest model year, the Ford F-250 gives you seven different grille choices, bed access steps on the rear bumper and the side beds, a standard 6.8-liter V8 and an available 6.8-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine. Four-wheel drive comes standard on XLT models and above and you'll get a standard 8.0-inch center display screen on XL models and a 12.0-inch screen with higher trims. This year you can choose from an 8- or 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system and a blind-spot monitoring safety system for fifth wheel and gooseneck towing.
Engine choices
The new Ford F-250 gives you a choice of gasoline engines that include a 6.8-liter V8 with 400 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque as well as a 7.3-liter V8 that's good for 430 horsepower and 485 pound-feet of torque. Your turbodiesel engine option is a 6.7-liter Power Stroke model with two different states of tune. One gives you 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque and the higher output variation has an upgraded turbocharger to deliver 500 horsepower and a whopping 1,200 pound-feet of torque.
Towing and hauling capability
The 2023 Ford F-250 pickup has better towing and hauling capabilities than ever before. The maximum towing capacity now reaches as high as 22,000 pounds and that's available with rear-wheel drive in the regular cab dually model driven by the high-output diesel engine. With the rear-wheel drive 6.8-liter gasoline-powered V8 engine, the payload capacity in the new Ford F-250 truck gets as high as 4,300 pounds.
In-cabin technology
The F-250 pickup comes with a standard 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen along with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Available options include a 12.0-inch touchscreen, a head-up display and a wireless device charger. Bang & Olufsen stereo systems are also available with either eight or 18 speakers.
Trailering technology
Ford offers Pro Fleet Management and telematics software that allows your business to monitor vehicle usage and it's enhanced by 5G wireless connectivity. An industry-first tailgate-down camera and reverse proximity sensors will make things easier when the bed is open. The Ford F-250 also has a hitching camera view and semi-autonomous driving that helps simplify things when you're connecting a trailer. A 360-degree camera system is another helpful feature when a trailer is attached.
Pro Power Onboard
The new Ford F-250 gives you a Pro Power Onboard system that works as a built-in generator and it can provide you with up to 2.0 kilowatts of power. It's built into the bed and the cab so you can plug in power equipment and accessories that will be powered by the truck.
Bed sizes
The Ford F-250 gives you a choice of two different beds. Regular Cab models come with a longer 8-foot bed and the Super Cab and Crew Cab models are available for both the 6.75-foot bed and the longer version. You can get access to the bed with integrated box side steps, integrated hand holds, rear corner bumper steps and a tailgate step that's closer to the ground.
